Reznikov announced "pleasant surprises" in arms supplies

At the Ramstein meeting, countries announced new ways of support that could be a game changer in Russia's war against Ukraine, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said.

"I can optimistically echo the assessment made by another great friend of Ukraine, Minister Lloyd Austin III: At today's meeting, the countries announced new ways of support that could be a game changer in this war," Reznikov wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

The head of the Ministry of Defense pointed out that Ukraine has received confirmation about the strengthening of the coastal defense. According to him, other pleasant surprises that will strengthen the power of the Ukrainian army were also discussed.

"I expect that at the next meeting in June I will be able to report to my colleagues on the results of the use of weapons, which was discussed at the meeting on May 23. So, among other things, we have already received confirmation about the strengthening of our coastal defense. In particular, we are talking about the Harpoon launchers and anti-ship missiles. The solution was found through the combined efforts of several of our partner countries. We were also talking about other pleasant surprises, which will strengthen the power of the Ukrainian army, and will be unpleasant for the enemy. But about that - later," noted Reznikov.

He stressed that "Ramstein" is becoming a real coalition of the free world in support of Ukraine.

"It is gratifying that the number of participating countries is increasing, only Antarctica is not represented among the continents," the minister added.

Reznikov said that together with his colleagues he informed the partners in detail about the situation on the front and the changes that have occurred since the last meeting.

"We stated the progress in the supply of 155-mm artillery and outlined the priority needs of the Ukrainian defenders. Whereas at the first meeting the key words were "peacekeeping" and "transition," this time the word "peace" was added as well. We will concentrate our efforts to ensure that international support has maximum effect," he assured.

Reznikov said he had a meaningful conversation with German Federal Minister Christine Lambrecht last week, during which, among other things, the Gepard anti-air armored vehicles were discussed. "I am grateful for everything Germany has started to do for Ukraine," said the head of the Ministry of Defense.

According to him, all participants in the meeting expressed unwavering support for Ukraine in the war with Russia and expressed admiration for the heroism and professionalism of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the fortitude of the entire Ukrainian people.
