Hundreds of MPs had their diplomatic passports revoked - mass media

The Verkhovna Rada apparatus has received a notice that the diplomatic passports of 225 MPs have been revoked by the Foreign Ministry, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing three sources in parliament.

One of the newspaper's interlocutors said that the reason for this was that the people's deputies had not turned in their diplomatic passports after returning from business trips. Another source said that this decision of the Foreign Ministry angered many MPs.

Telegram channel "UP. Off the record" published a list of MPs left without diplomatic passports. It lists the head of the specialized parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, Oleksandr Merezhko, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arahamiya, deputy speakers Oleksandr Korniyenko and Olena Kondratyuk, as well as the leaders of some parties, such as Yuliya Tymoshenko.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly criticized MPs and other politicians for traveling abroad without good reason. At the same time, in early June, a bill appeared in the Rada, which proposed to simplify the departure of MPs from Ukraine.
