The NATO Secretary General called on Georgia to redouble its efforts to carry out reforms

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called Georgia "one of the closest partners" of the alliance.

At a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Georgia Iraklii Garibashvili, Stoltenberg emphasized that "the allies fully support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia."

He added that Georgia "can count on the constant political and practical support of NATO."

"In turn, I expect that Georgia will redouble its efforts to carry out internal reforms and support democratic standards," Stoltenberg said.

Speaking about Russia's war against Ukraine, Stoltenberg said: "We don't know when the war will end. But we know that Russian aggression is a poisonous model that must be stopped once and for all."

"Ukraine defends its right to self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter, and we expect all NATO partners to support this goal," Stoltenberg said.
