Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, said that the rise in logistics costs makes Ukrainian agriculture unprofitable. He said this in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, the country's agriculture is approaching a crisis due to a sharp rise in costs, especially for transportation of products.
He said that costs have risen sharply, while world prices have fallen, so the export of many types of agricultural products is becoming unprofitable for Ukrainian farmers.
Unless these costs are reduced, for example, by increasing exports by sea, many producers face bankruptcy. According to Vysotsky, this threatens the Ukrainian economy and global food security.
