Peak of COVID-19 incidence in Ukraine is expected in December-January, - Kuzin

In Ukraine, the peak of the incidence of COVID-19 is predicted for mid-December and last until January. This was stated by Chief Sanitary Doctor, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin during a telethon.


According to him, since the beginning of the epidemic season, a total of 1.3 million Ukrainians have been infected with respiratory diseases. In December, about four thousand patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized every week.


"We will gradually observe this pattern of transition from one virus to another. And so far, as of today, we have recorded that the vast majority of cases of coronavirus infection are registered, and there are more of them," Kuzin said.


The chief sanitary doctor noted that the peak is expected to be in mid-December. It will last until January 2024, and then will gradually fade away.


"Starting in January, the influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 will start circulating," Kuzin added.
