SBU serves suspicion notice to head of Russian CEC for holding "elections" in Ukraine

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to the head of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, for holding illegal "elections" in Ukraine. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the official organized a large-scale falsification of the "results" of illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions this autumn.

She involved two of her subordinates in the illegal activities - Kremlin political strategist Pavel Andreev, who was appointed a representative of the Russian CEC in 2021, and his colleague Lyudmila Markina.

"On Pamfilova's instructions, they participated in the creation of occupation "territorial election commissions" and the artificial "legitimization" of the fake plebiscite," the statement said.
