Shelling of TPP in Donetsk region, fire at one of the frontline TPPs - report of the Ministry of Energy

Russian occupants shelled a TPP in Donetsk region, and due to technical reasons, equipment caught fire at one of the frontline TPPs, in both cases without casualties. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

It is noted that as a result of the shelling of the TPP, the equipment is being inspected, but the plant continues to operate normally. Currently, there is no shortage of electricity in the power system, but hydroelectric generation resources are being actively used to meet the increased demand.

The Ministry of Energy calls for economical electricity consumption during peak hours, especially from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00. At this time, two TPP units are under emergency repairs, but three other units have already been restored after short-term maintenance.

Electricity imports are currently forecast to decrease by 26% compared to the previous Monday, and exports have been suspended for almost two weeks.
