Czech PM did not disclose details of ammunition supplies to Ukraine in Fico's presence - media

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala changed his speech to the allies about the initiative to purchase 800,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine. He made this decision after learning that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico would also be present at the table. This was reported by Aktualne.

According to the publication, this refers to the meeting of the leaders of the countries in Paris three weeks ago, which was convened by French President Emanuel Macron. During the event, it was planned to discuss a number of issues regarding joint efforts to address the most pressing needs of Ukraine during the Russian intervention.

Initially, the Czech prime minister planned to inform the others about the progress of the Czech initiative to search for ammunition for Ukraine from non-European countries.

However, when it turned out that instead of 15 representatives of countries, there would be 25, including Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Fiala changed his speech and hid the details.

It is noted that Fico then made a speech on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, in which he said that Russian dictator Putin was "falsely demonized."

As anonymous sources in the diplomatic mission explained, they did indeed strike out strategically important information from the speech and later provided it to "several leaders individually."

"The head of the Czech government did not want strategic information about ammunition for Ukraine to reach Russian ears through the Slovak prime minister," the report said.
