Ukraine hits Konstantin Olshansky ship with Neptune missile - Ukrainian Navy spokesman

The Defense Forces hit the Russian ship Konstantin Olshansky with Neptune anti-ship missile. This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, during a national telethon.

According to him, Russia stole this landing ship from Ukraine in 2014.

"It was in the bay for nine years, and the occupiers began to disassemble it for spare parts. In the 10th year of the war, the enemies realized that they were running out of large landing ships, so they restored it within a year," Pletenchuk said.

The navy spokesman noted that the extent of damage to the damaged ship is being determined. However, it has definitely been hit and is not yet combat-ready.

"This ship was to be used by Ukraine. Therefore, it was decided to destroy this unit with our Neptune," he said.

Pletenchuk added that the defeat occurred on the same day as "the shooting down of the large landing ships Azov and Yamal, as well as the Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs - on March 24."

"Among the interesting details is that they tried to pass it off (the Konstantin Olshansky) as either the repaired Olenegorskiy Gornyak or Minsk. After all, the damage there is such that their restoration is a big question mark," Pletenchuk said.

It should be noted that since March 24, no summary of Russian losses from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has included data on sunken ships.
