Ukraine exposes Russian agent in Khortytsia group: he was a lieutenant colonel and worked "for an idea"

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk said that a Russian agent was operating in the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, who was helped to be caught by the current commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who was then in charge of the grouping. He said this on the air of a national telethon.

According to him, the SBU and Syrskyi were "leading" a Russian agent who served in Khortytsia together - the military commander helped the special service document the offender.

He noted that it was clear that the agent was passing on to the Russians all intelligence information from various streams, including classified information.

Malyuk said that he was detected and detained, the traitor had the rank of lieutenant colonel.

The general said he was surprised to learn that the detainee had refused to be paid by the Russian Federal Security Service and was working "for an idea," although he was from Volyn region.
