German Chancellor called on Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine and stop hostilities

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on German television called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine and stop hostilities.

 

"I urge President Putin: stop the fighting immediately, withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine, cancel the unlawful recognition of the independence of the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk," Scholz said Thursday.
