Lithuanian Foreign Minister: one country holds the EU hostage by blocking Russia's oil embargo

The EU plan to impose an embargo on Russian oil is hindered only by one member of the bloc. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis told reporters on Monday.

"Now, unfortunately, the entire Union is held hostage by one member state... We have to agree, we can't be held hostage," Landsbergis said.

According to him, a single EU member state "can't help us find a consensus".

Diplomats in the bloc say Hungary, whose leader Viktor Orban is said to have close relations with Putin, is resisting sanctions.
