The number of injured children since the Russian invasion of Ukraine is approaching 700

The number of child victims since the Russian invasion of Ukraine has reached at least 689 children, 243 of whom have died, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.

 

"More than 689 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of June 1, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed overnight - 243. There was no change in the data on the wounded - 446," the report says.

 

Most of children suffered in the Donetsk region - 153, Kyiv region - 116, Kharkiv region - 111, Chernihiv region - 68, Lugansk region - 52, Kherson region - 52, Mykolaiv region - 47, Zaporizhzhia region - 29, Sumy region - 17, in Kyiv city - 16, Zhitomyr region - 15.

 

These figures are not final, as work is being done to establish them in places of active combat operations, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

As a result of constant bombing and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,937 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 181 of them were completely destroyed, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
