In the Ministry of Social Policy called the real cost of living in Ukraine

The real living wage in Ukraine is much higher than the actual one and amounts to about 6,500 hryvnia. But now the government is looking for money to ensure its increase from December 1 to 2,589 hryvnia.

This was reported by the Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

"According to our estimates, about 2.6 times more for the one provided, that is, about 6.5 thousand hryvnia," she said.

At the same time, she said, in this matter should consider the household.

"If it is one person, he needs somewhere of those 6 thousand to pay rent, rent, utilities. If there are two or three people, then this amount decreases with each subsequent one. It should be understood that this minimum cannot be deduced linearly for each person, we have to consider the households. But it is clear that the approved one is less than the real one," said Zholnovich.

According to the minister, the government is now working to fill the budget in order to carry out the planned increase of the living wage in December, as it has already been budgeted.

Recall that in 2022 the living wage per person per month is set at UAH 2,393 as of January 1, July 1 - UAH 2,508, December 1 - UAH 2,589.

Earlier it was reported that according to the Ministry of Social Policy, the actual size of the living wage for able-bodied persons in prices of June 2022 is estimated at 7000 hryvnia and is projected at 8200 hryvnia at the beginning of 2023. The law on the state budget for July 1, the living wage for able-bodied persons is set at 2,600 hryvnia.
