Ukraine will not use Western fighters to attack Russia - Kuleba

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba insists that Western fighter jets will not be used by Ukraine to strike targets on Russian territory.

He said this in an interview with the Sky News channel.

Kuleba said that Ukraine needed the fighter jets to end the war and push Russia beyond its eastern borders.

"We use the weapons we receive from our partners to strike at Russia in the occupied territories of Ukraine," he said.

Asked if he could guarantee that Ukraine would not use Western aircraft and other long-range weapons for bombing inside Russia itself, the minister said: "We can guarantee that we will use Western weapons to liberate Ukrainian territories."

Earlier, Kuleba stated that Ukraine is particularly interested in fighter jets from the USA, Great Britain, France and Germany.

It will be recalled that the President of Poland Andrzej Duda on Wednesday commented on the possibility of transferring fighter jets to Ukraine, noting that it will primarily concern the Soviet MiG-29 aircraft, which it seeks to replace with modern analogues.
