Historic visit: Kuleba went to Guatemala

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba went on a visit to Guatemala, where he will participate in the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States.

This was reported by Kuleba in Instagtam.

"The best way to spend Europe Day... is to be on the way to Latin America to open new horizons for European Ukraine," he wrote.

Kuleba, at the invitation of the head of the Foreign Ministry of Guatemala, Mario Bucaro Flores, will participate in the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACC) and will make a bilateral visit.

"This trip is historic for three reasons. The first-ever visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Guatemala. The first-ever participation in the Council of Ministers of the AKD. The first visit of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Latin America in ten years," he noted.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the ACD is 25 states of the Caribbean basin. This is an important region that has significant resources and is interested in Ukrainian goods, government digitalization experience, and mutually beneficial political cooperation in international organizations.

Kuleba noted that his visit to Latin America is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' course to open new horizons for Ukraine, Ukrainian business and citizens. It will open a new page in Ukraine's relations with Latin American countries and strengthen cooperation with the Global South.

"This is the position of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and mine as a minister: we will go to every corner of the world to open up new opportunities, promote Ukrainian interests, and increase support for our state and economy," he added.

As a reminder, Ukraine expects to involve as many countries as possible in the peace formula, including representatives of Latin America, the African contingent, India and China.
