Kuleba will take part in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the European Union: will discuss the Ukraine-EU summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba will take part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU on January 23. He plans to discuss preparations for the Ukraine-EU summit with his colleagues. He informed about this during the briefing.

"This year and already these winter months will be very important on the way to Ukraine's membership in the EU. I have received an invitation from my European colleague Josep Borrell to participate in the first meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU in 2023, which will take place on 23 January. An important topic of my conversation with fellow ministers will be preparation for the Ukraine-EU summit on February 3," Kuleba said.

According to him, among his priorities will be the discussion of Ukraine's implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission, which are necessary for the transition to pre-accession negotiations with the EU.

"The European Commission highly appreciated the results of Ukraine's implementation of the seven recommendations that the European Commission provided in connection with granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership," said Kuleba.

He noted that the legislative push at the end of the year was extremely powerful and Ukraine made great progress.

"This creates quite strong positions for the further movement of Ukraine. The Ukraine-EU summit will also discuss the implementation of the peace formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the strengthening of the sanctions regime against Russia," Kuleba said.
