Apple's WWDC summer conference will start on June 5 with the presentation of the tech giant's new products. One of them may be an augmented reality headset - an ambitious project that the company has been working on for several years.

 When to watch the presentation

 From June 5 to 9, Apple will hold the annual developer conference WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference).

 On the first day of the event, company representatives will give an overview of the updates that will be launched this year.

 The broadcast of the presentation will begin on June 5 at 20:00 Kyiv time. You can watch online on the Apple website and on YouTube.

 Although users will not yet see the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch 9 series at the summer presentation (they will be presented in September 2023), insiders announce several important novelties.

 Reality Pro: a mixed reality headset

 For a long time, Apple has been working on a headset that will use both virtual and augmented reality (content is superimposed on the display of the real world).

 This is the company's first completely new product since 2015, when the Apple Watch was presented.

 The launch of the novelty was postponed several times, but the change in the logo on the WWDC website (the icon transforms from 2D to 3D) was taken by many as a hint that the presentation will take place at this summer's conference.

 The gadget called Reality Pro is expected to look like ski goggles. It will be possible to control the device using hands, eye movements and Siri commands.

 According to the Bloomberg reviewer, the headset has several external cameras capable of analyzing the movements of the user's hands. Sensors for reading data from the eyes are installed inside the case.

 This will allow you to control the device simply by looking at an element on the screen - to select buttons, icons, list items with eye movements. To activate the task, you will need to bring your thumb and forefinger together.

 A feature of the glasses will be a "through mode" with the ability to switch between virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). In VR mode, the user is completely immersed in the virtual space, and when AR is turned on, digital content can become transparent.

 Apps for gaming, fitness and meditation are also expected to be available on Apple's headset. The device will be compatible with iOS applications (Messages, FaceTime, Safari). In FaceTime, the headset will display the user's body and face in virtual reality to create the effect of being "in the same room".

According to insiders, the cost of Reality Pro can reach $3,000, which is higher than the price of similar headsets from other companies.

 iOS 17. What new features will iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch have

 New capabilities of the updated mobile operating system will be presented during the developers' conference. Several programs will receive new functions and become more convenient for users:

 smart display mode for iPhone – will be activated when the device is locked and transferred to a horizontal position, displaying messages, calendar, weather;

 diary - will allow you to keep a log of activity, mood and emotions. Will be integrated with location services on iPhone;

 update of the "Health" application - will be supplemented with options for registering mood and solving vision problems. For the first time, the program will also appear on the iPad;

 all the main applications will be updated in Apple Watch, a new widget interface will appear.

 Updates for Wallet, SharePlay applications have also been announced. The AirPlay function will make it easier to transfer content to TVs and speakers.

 In addition, iOS 17 may introduce an interface with larger controls and an artificial intelligence function for voice playback.

 With the release of iOS 17, iPhone owners are expected to be able to install applications from third-party sources, but this will only be allowed to users in Europe after the adoption of the EU digital services law.

 Updated MacBook

 At Apple's presentation today, MacBook Air with the largest display - 15 inches - may be presented.

 The screen of the current version of the MacBook is 13.6 inches. Previously, only the more expensive MacBook Pro was available to users who wanted a larger screen.

 An increase in the autonomy of the device thanks to a more powerful battery was also announced.

 A Mac Pro computer may also receive the update. It will refer to increased performance due to the use of M2 Ultra chips.

 The chip will include 24 processor cores (16 high-performance and 8 efficient cores) and offer up to 76 graphics cores. The company is also planning variants with 64 GB, 128 GB and 192 GB of RAM.

 This chip will also be used in the updated Mac Studio line - in the new M2 Max and M2 Ultra configurations.
