Missile fragments were found in a lake near the Moldovan village of Farladan, Kaushan district, NewsMaker reports. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova said that law enforcement officers and sappers arrived at the scene.
The discovery was reported by Marianna Didenco, press secretary of the Novi Anena police.
She also emphasized that experts have arrived at the site to check the wreckage.
"The perimeter has been surrounded, and the necessary research and underwater work is underway," the police said.
The General Inspectorate of Emergency Situations noted that the missile debris was found in the lake on the eve of September 27. A group of rescuers was sent to the reservoir, but work was suspended overnight. On the morning of September 28, the search for all parts of the missile was resumed.
