Delayed delivery of a million ammunition to Ukraine: explanation from the EU

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has explained that delays in the delivery of artillery shells promised by the European Union to Ukraine are due to the limited capacity of the military-industrial complex. He said this to the LRT TV channel.

"We have to admit that we have not yet reached the volumes needed to continue providing this military support to Ukraine," Nauseda emphasized.

Speaking about the EU's €50 billion financial package to support Kyiv, the Lithuanian president assured that the political will to approve it exists. He expressed hope that a consensus on this issue would be found within a few months.

"The question is whether this money will be enough, because we are talking about a longer period of time, which means that (the amount) should also be divided into years. Then we will get an average annual amount that will be less than the 18 billion (euros) allocated this year," Nauseda said.

However, he also emphasized that the countries are ready to return to this issue if Ukraine really needs additional funds.
