Only Ukraine determines the conditions for ending the war with Russia - Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has emphasized that only Ukraine should decide when and how to hold peace talks with Russia to end the war, The Guardian reports.

Stoltenberg noted that Ukraine will be able to negotiate with Russia on any peace it wants to agree on when and if the time comes for peace talks.

"It is up to Ukraine to decide which ways to end this war are acceptable. It is our duty to support Ukraine and enable it to liberate as much territory as possible and to ensure the best possible conditions for negotiations, if they are to begin at all," the NATO Secretary General emphasized.

According to Stoltenberg, "wars are by nature unpredictable".

"We have not seen any signs that President Putin is planning for peace, in fact he is planning for the continuation of the war. The more military support we provide to Ukraine, the stronger its position on the battlefield and the stronger its position at the negotiating table," he added.
