EU will increase funding for training of Ukrainian military

On November 2, the Council of the European Union decided to provide additional funding for training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the department's website reports.

Such training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is carried out within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine).

Funding will be increased by 194 million euros and will amount to 255 million euros in total.

"The aim of today's decision is to continue EUMAM's support to build the capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking into account Ukraine's needs and the growing size and complexity of the training program," the EU Council said in a statement.

It is also noted that this support will continue to facilitate large-scale training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will allow EU member states to provide the necessary training equipment and materials.
