Ukrzaliznytsia will transport trucks on trains due to Polish blockade on the border

Ukrzaliznytsia has launched a test container train loaded with 23 Ukrainian trucks that were blocked from entering Ukraine due to a strike by Polish carriers. This was stated by Valeriy Tkachov, deputy director of Ukrzaliznytsia's commercial work department, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The day before, a video of Ukrainian trucks loaded on container platforms moving along the railway was posted on social media.

Tkachov confirmed that in this way Ukrainian exporters are trying to solve the problem of crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border, which is blocked by Polish carriers.

"Now we have a loaded train at the crossing with the Hrubieszów checkpoint. We already have 23 loaded container cars with trucks," he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian and Polish sides are now coordinating technical issues. The Polish customs has questions about the dimensions of the cargo and the availability of fuel in the tanks of the trucks.

"In the near future, we will try to resolve these issues so that it can pass. As soon as this test train passes and everything goes well, we will launch it on a massive scale," Tkachv said.
