Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia join EU sanctions against Russia for human rights violations

Ukraine, Armenia, Moldova and a number of other countries have joined the EU sanctions against Russia for human rights violations. This was reported by the Council of the European Union.


It is noted that on December 4 this year, the EU Council extended the current sanctions for another twelve months, until December 8, 2024, and amended the list of individuals and legal entities subject to restrictive measures.


This decision of the Council was joined by the following countries:

 

  • North Macedonia.
  • Montenegro.
  • Albania.
  • Ukraine.
  • Republic of Moldova.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Iceland.
  • Liechtenstein.
  • Norway.
  • Armenia.
  • Azerbaijan.

 

"The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it," the statement said.
