Around 09:00, the police received a report that an unknown person had shot a car belonging to the deputy mayor of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the man died on the spot. This is stated in the statement of the prosecutor's office.
The police reported that at the scene, it was found that the attacker had used an unidentified weapon, causing the car to catch fire. After the fire was extinguished, the body of a 59-year-old man was found in the car.
Law enforcement officers also identified the attacker, are currently collecting and analyzing material evidence, and are conducting operational and investigative measures to detain the suspect.
