Kharkiv ends heating season ahead of schedule due to shelling on March 22, - city mayor

Kharkiv will end the heating season ahead of schedule on March 22 due to hits. This was stated by the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov.

According to him, this will reduce the load on the energy system, as the shelling actually destroyed the main energy facilities that supplied the city.

"The electricity shortage is still significant. That is why we see the early end of the heating season as the only possible measure to reduce the load on the power system. Only this will allow us to provide electricity to the maximum number of consumers and bring hot water to the homes of Kharkiv residents," said Terekhov.

The heating will be cut off starting tomorrow. Tomorrow it will be 3 to 12 degrees in Kharkiv, and then warming is expected.

In addition, Terekhov said that the city's electric transport will not work for the time being.

"Today we have managed to do the almost impossible - to start running trains at all subway stations at 20-minute intervals. At the same time, there is still not enough capacity for ground electric transport. Instead of trams and trolleybuses, free municipal buses continue to transport passengers under the blackout scheme," the mayor said.
