The President of Finland calls for force: The only way to peace in Ukraine is on the battlefield

The only way to achieve peace in Ukraine is on the battlefield. Because Russian President Vladimir Putin understands only the language of force. This was stated by the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, in CNN.

"I have been involved in peace mediation for many years, and of course, when you mediate, it starts with a dialogue, and after the dialogue, you start setting parameters. But I think in this particular case, the cold truth is that the only way to achieve peace is on the battlefield," he said.

According to the Finnish president, the only thing that Russian President Vladimir Putin understands is force.

"And from all sides, this war is too big for him to lose. I just sometimes wonder if peace is not almost impossible from his point of view, but I think there is a shift in the language coming from Ukrainians and President Zelensky," Stubb said.

He emphasized that, in particular, these are talks about a peace forum that is needed.

"Obviously, the Swiss will host it at some point in the near future, but peace has to be bilateral. It is not just a one-way street. It is necessary that at some point the paths meet. But I don't know when the conditions will be right for that. To be honest, we have absolutely no political dialogue with Russia right now. I don't think we can, and I don't think we should," the  Finnish president said.
