Ukraine recorded 54 cases of execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war - prosecutor's office

Yuriy Bilousov, head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict, said that the Prosecutor General's Office has 27 criminal proceedings on the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war. A total of 54 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.

"We are also working on this fact and the previous ones, as well as on the command responsible for such actions," Bilousov commented on the video of the execution of three Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen near Krynky, adding that the Ukrainian side is still establishing details and their names. - "We are talking not only about the unit commanders, but also about the top military and political leadership. Because this is not an isolated case, but evidence of Russian policy."

Ukraine has reportedly been recording such cases since March 2022.

Bilousov explained that these investigations are usually complicated by the fact that investigators cannot get to the crime scenes, but the work continues. He emphasized that Ukraine has a unique experience in documenting crimes, even without access to the necessary territories.
