We don't need U.S. and Canadian soldiers in the war - Reznikov

Ukraine does not need combat units of world powers in the war against the aggression of Russia - only modern weapons and assistance in the modernization of the weapons that are already available to the AFU. Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said this in an interview with CNN.

"We don't need American or Canadian soldiers to fight here for Ukraine. We will fight on our own, but we need weapons modernization, (electronic warfare capabilities), and so on," he said.

When the interviewer asked if Ukraine had any concerns that such aid from the U.S. and NATO might provoke the Kremlin into invading, Reznikov said that "the idea of not provoking Russia doesn't work."

"I'm sure it doesn't," he said, and when asked "Why?" he added: "Because Georgia, Salisbury, Crimea.

According to the head of the Defense Ministry, a coordinated position of allies is needed, that "we are partners of Ukraine, we will help it in every possible way."

"And the Kremlin, hearing this, will understand and stop?" - the journalist asked.

"I'm sure it will," Reznikov concluded.
