Evacuation of foreign diplomats from Ukraine. What's going on

Britain began to evacuate some of the staff of the embassy in Kiev. The reason is called the threat of aggravation of the situation. This is reported on the website of the British government.

"Some embassy staff are being evacuated from Kiev in response to the growing threat from Russia. The British Embassy remains open and will continue to do its work," the statement said.
The European Union is waiting for an explanation from U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken regarding the decision to leave Ukraine for U.S. diplomats. The European Union itself is not going to do the same yet. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel to journalists on Monday morning, reports UNN.
"Secretary Blinken will explain to us the reason for this announcement. We are not going to do the same because we do not know the specific reasons. But Secretary Blinken will explain it to us. I don't think we need to be dramatic while the negotiations are going on, and they are going on," Borrell said, answering questions from reporters before the meeting of EU foreign ministers, where Blinken has been invited.
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department explains the evacuation of the diplomats' families as precautionary measures to be taken for the safety of U.S. citizens and government personnel, and they allegedly do not in any way undermine their support for Ukraine.
"The United States' commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity is unwavering. The U.S. Embassy in Kiev continues to work, and U.S. Charge d'Affaires Christine Quinn remains in Ukraine," the agency said.
At the same time, the State Department urged its citizens to plan to leave Ukraine in the near future, because in case of Russian invasion their evacuation could be significantly complicated.
"Russian military action anywhere in Ukraine would seriously affect the ability of the U.S. Embassy to provide consular services, including assistance to U.S. citizens in departing from Ukraine," the department explained.
