The US authorities believe that the situation in Ukraine remains unpredictable and may "deteriorate without warning", Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said, the State Department press service has reported.

 

According to the press service of the State Department, the head of the diplomatic office suggested that "any military operations by the Russian Federation would severely limit commercial air travel." According to him, Russian troops "continue to approach the Ukrainian border, which looks like plans to launch an invasion at any moment."

 

He also confirmed information that U.S. diplomats who are in Ukraine will spend the night in Poland for security reasons.

 

"Our employees will return regularly to continue their diplomatic work in Ukraine and provide emergency consular services," Blinken clarified.

 

Vladimir Putin, following the Russian Security Council, addressed the Russian people. Among other things, he stated that Ukraine was created by Bolshevik Russia and promised "decommunization."

 

After the address, he signed decrees recognizing the so-called "L/DPR" as well as the Treaty of Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. The decree recognizing the independence of the quasi-republics also spoke about military assistance from the Russian Federation.And on the night of February 22, Russia introduced troops into the L/DPR.
