Expenses critically exceed revenues - Marchenko called for financial support for Ukraine

Because of the war with the Russian Federation, the difference between expenditures and income is growing rapidly in Ukraine. Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko urged to support our country financially.

The minister told this in an interview with the Financial Times.

According to Marchenko, in March state expenditures exceeded revenues by almost 2.7 billion dollars. At the same time, Ukraine expects the difference to grow to 5-7 billion dollars in April and May.

Gross domestic product this year was $164 billion.

"We are under a lot of stress, in the worst financial situation. Right now it's about the survival of our country. If you want us to keep fighting this war, if you want us to win this war, then help us," Marchenko said.

It should be noted that Britain will allocate to our country the aid under the International Fund in the amount of 500 million dollars. Meanwhile, the European Commission is also planning to allocate 1 billion euros to support Ukraine and other countries hosting refugees.
