Foreign Ministry about Khamenei's statement: Ukraine is concerned about Iran's changing rhetoric on Russian invasion

The Ukrainian side has urged Iran to refrain from statements or steps that fuel Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Thus the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko commented on the statement of the Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, who believes that Russia is at war with NATO on Ukrainian territory.

"We paid attention to the statements of the Iranian leadership, which indirectly justify the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war, Iran has publicly declared a position of neutrality and advocated a cease-fire and a political and diplomatic settlement. In this context, the Ukrainian side of the leadership," Nikolenko said.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that condoning Russia's aggressive actions not only encourages it to continue its unprovoked war against the people of Ukraine, but also lays the groundwork for destabilizing peace and security in other countries.

"Any accusations of allegedly preparing an attack on Russia are baseless and manipulative. We urge the Iranian side to refrain from statements or steps that will fuel Russian aggression against Ukraine," Nikolenko stressed.

Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes that Russia is at war with NATO on Ukrainian territory than supports Russia's war against Ukraine.

"If the road is open for NATO, she will not see any obstacles in front of her, and if you did not confront her in Ukraine, she herself would start a war under the pretext of Crimea," he said.
