Head of Energoatom: Ukraine will have enough nuclear fuel reserves for two years

In Ukraine, nuclear fuel reserves will be enough for two years of work, and it is planned to start its own production. Petro Kotin, president of "Energoatom" company, announced this on the air of the telethon.

"Now we have a stock of nuclear fuel for two years. We are working with Westinghouse to create a line for the production of our own fuel, based on their technologies. We are already producing heads and tails of cassettes that have been licensed by an American company. That is, we will produce half in Ukraine, and the other half will be supplied by Westinghouse," Kotin said.

According to him, since the first days of the full-scale war, Ukraine has refused to purchase Russian nuclear fuel.

"Energoatom plans to transfer all power units of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which were on Russian fuel, to Westinghouse fuel," added the president of Energoatom.
