The EU is considering a fourth package of sanctions against Iran for supporting Russia

The European Union is discussing the fourth round of sanctions against Iran due to repression and the supply of weapons to Russia for the war in Ukraine.

As Reuters reports, this was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

The agency's diplomatic sources said members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) would be added to the sanctions list next week.

A number of EU countries have called for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to be classified as a terrorist organization. The UK is also expected to make a decision in the coming weeks.

"We are indeed looking at a new round of sanctions, and I would support listing the Revolutionary Guard as well. I have heard several ministers ask for that, and I think they are right," von der Leyen said.

It will be recalled that earlier the United States imposed sanctions against six Iranian citizens who are responsible for the development and production of drones.
