The defense of Bamut, which has been going on for ten months, is a successful defensive operation. In its course, the enemy lost a large number of manpower and equipment.

 This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov in a comment to CNN.

 He reminded that the words of the Russians regarding the full occupation of Bakhmut are false, as part of the city is still under the control of Ukraine.

 According to Danilov, the decision to continue the defense of Bakhmut was made at the strategic level. This issue was constantly discussed at the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander.

 The Secretary of the National Security Council emphasized that a large number of Russian servicemen were eliminated in the Bakhmut area, and not only mercenaries of the "Wagner" PEC, but also special forces, airborne forces, and representatives of other branches of the military. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a huge amount of equipment, and the enemy spent a significant amount of ammunition there.

 "This is our strategic defense operation, which is successful for us, given that we have been holding this territory for 10 months, where we destroyed them every day. They cannot take Bakhmut for 10 months. What can they brag about?" Danilov added.

 It is worth noting that last week the Russians started spreading fakes that they allegedly completely captured Bakhmut of the Donetsk region. Official representatives of Ukraine denied the enemy's attacks, clarifying that the Armed Forces still control the southwestern part of the city.

 At the same time, near Bakhmut, our defenders continue their gradual advance. For example, yesterday the speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces, Serhiy Cherevaty, stated that during the day, our military advanced 200-400 meters in some areas under the city.
