EU Foreign Ministers convene emergency meeting over situation in Israel

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced the convening of an emergency meeting of foreign ministers on October 10 in response to the Hamas attack on Israel. He wrote about it on the social network X.

"Tomorrow I am convening an emergency meeting of EU foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Israel and the region," Borrell said.

Peter Stano, EU foreign policy spokesperson, added at a briefing in Brussels that the ministers will discuss the consequences of the events that have taken place in Israel since Saturday.

"They will consider the response and the next steps of the European Union," Stano said in response to a question about the potential suspension of EU support for the Palestinians.

The European Commission emphasized that the EU does not provide any direct support to Hamas.
