Eccentric Javier Milei became President of Argentina: opposes BRICS, Russia and China

An outrageous candidate, Javier Milei, won the presidential election in Argentina, Bloomberg reports.

Javier Milei demands not to join the BRICS, to break relations with "communist" Russia and China, to abolish the national currency, abolish the central bank and switch to the US dollar. The new future president called China a "killer country."

He also proposes to reduce government spending and minimize government intervention in the economy.

Former White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump has already congratulated Milei on his victory and said that the new president will "make Argentina great again."

The new president will take office on December 10 and will be in office until the end of 2027. His rival, Sergio Massa, a former Minister of Economy, received 44.24% of the vote.

It is worth noting that the candidate for the post of Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, said after the last presidential election in the country that Argentina would not join the BRICS.

"No," she answered when asked whether the country would join the BRICS on January 1, 2024.

Mondino added that she does not understand why there is such interest in the association. At the same time, she clarified that the government of Javier Milei, who won the elections in Argentina, has nothing for or against BRICS.

According to her, the government is currently unclear about the benefits for Argentina.

"If it turns out later that there is a benefit, we will analyze it," Mondino summarized.
