Ukrenergo: Power outage schedules introduced in two regions

In the most affected regions by the Russian missile attack on March 22, schedules of hourly power outages have been introduced. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

Consumption restrictions have been imposed in Kharkiv and Odesa regions. There are no restrictions in Khmelnytskyi region and Kryvyi Rih.

In all affected cities, critical infrastructure is fully connected, and electric transport has been partially restored.

"We have also restored electricity supply via regional power distribution companies' networks for all consumers who were cut off from power as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks on power facilities. However, Ukrenergo's substations that transmit electricity from power plants to regional power distribution networks have damaged heavy high-tech equipment, which will take time to replace. Therefore, high-voltage networks cannot transmit the huge amounts of electricity needed to cover the needs of all consumers," the statement said.

The company warns that in case of an increase in consumption, Ukrenergo's Dispatch Center will be forced to take measures to limit consumption.

"Emergency services and repair crews are working at power plants that were hit by Russian missiles, debris is being cleared and damage is being fixed. The sunny weather favors the operation of solar power plants," Ukrenergo said.

In the morning and later in the day, electricity imports come from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova in the total amount of 12,802 MWh.
