The Kremlin does not consider it possible to exchange Medvedchuk for captured Ukrainian servicemen

The Kremlin does not see the possibility of exchanging MP Viktor Medvedchuk, former co-chairman of the Opposition Platform for Life party, for captured Ukrainian servicemen, the BBC reports.

"As for the exchange, about which with such heat, fervor and pleasure various figures in Kiev have started talking, Medvedchuk is not a Russian citizen, he has nothing to do with the special military operation. He is a foreign political figure," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"We do not know at all whether he himself wants any Russian involvement in resolving this libelous situation against him," the presidential spokesman stressed.
