Medvedchuk's arrest has been extended until September 19

The Lviv Regional Court of Lychakiv has extended the arrest of MP Viktor Medvedchuk. He will remain in custody until at least September 19.

 

This is evidenced by the relevant decision of the court.

 

"Yesterday, August 03, 2022, the investigating judge of the Lychakovsky district court of Lviv granted the request of the prosecutor of the office of the Prosecutor General and extended the period of detention without determining the amount of bail Medvedchuk V. V., who is reasonably suspected of committing criminal offences under part 2 of article 28 part 1 of article 111, part 2 of article 28 part 1 of article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, within the period of pre-trial investigation, namely until 19 September 2022", - the statement says.

 

We will remind, in 2021, MP Viktor Medvedchuk was announced several suspicions. In particular, in treason and in cooperation with the so-called "LDNR".

 

Prior to the full-scale war in Ukraine, he was under house arrest, from which he escaped immediately after the outbreak of hostilities.

 

Medvedchuk's detention became known in the evening of April 12. He had tried to flee the country.

 

Subsequently, the Lychakovsky District Court in Lviv ordered that Medvedchuk be held in custody, which was extended until September 19.
