The Russian occupiers have made this Easter red with blood because of attacks on civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an address commenting on the shelling of Russian occupiers.
"Are these people Christians, who continued yesterday to shell our cities and communities. Who shelled Chuguev, who killed 2 more children in the Donetsk region on Easter. Killing children, destroying lives, covering up cynical and total lies against peaceful cities. All that Russia is doing on the territory of Ukraine is definitely not Christianity, this is what Christ opposed," the head of state said.
Zelensky said that Russia made such a big religious holiday as Easter a tragedy for Ukraine. Because it led to the deaths of civilians, including children.
"The Russian army made this Easter red and not only in the calendar, but red with blood. Christians would not do such a thing... so holding a candle in the temple does not mean being a Christian," the president stressed.
