New sanctions are being created: G7 countries are preparing measures against Russia in support of Ukraine

Finance ministers and heads of central banks of the G7 countries have pledged to continue their efforts to ensure that Russia pays for Ukraine's long-term recovery. This was reported by the press service of the European Commission.

"We reaffirm our unwavering determination to impose and enforce sanctions and other economic measures to further undermine Russia's ability to wage an illegal and unjustified war of aggression," the G7 ministers said in a press release.

The meeting also announced the intention to provide additional financial support to Ukraine for 2024 and confirmed that Russia's sovereign assets under the jurisdiction of the G7 countries will remain frozen until Russia compensates for the damages caused to Ukraine.
