"Negotiations are ongoing": EU postpones decision on duty-free trade with Ukraine

The European Union has postponed the scheduled approval of a duty-free trade agreement with Ukraine. It has been postponed until Wednesday, March 27.  This was reported by RFM24.

It is noted that the approval of the agreement on duty-free trade with Ukraine has been postponed due to the approval of certain nuances of the agreement.

In particular, France and Poland, with the support of the countries bordering Ukraine, want to amend the agreement to further restrict imports of agricultural products.

Representatives of Belgium claim that the postponement is due to the fact that many countries have not yet decided how they will vote.

The EU Council decided to give a little more time to make a final decision.

French diplomats assure that the postponement of the agreement shows that "negotiations are ongoing" and the text of the agreement is not yet ready for adoption.
