CSTO does not support Russia in the war against Ukraine - intelligence

The countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) do not want to participate in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the main intelligence directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.

The CSTO is a military and political international organization consisting of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Despite Russia's insistence, the CSTO members do not want to decide on peacekeeping operations outside their countries. Including on the territory of the so-called DNR and LNR.

At the same time, CSTO members may consider limited deployment of national contingents on the territory of Russia or Belarus. But only after an official statement on Ukraine's attack on their territory.

On April 15, Kazakh Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksilikov said that Kazakhstan had not received a request to send national troops to Ukraine. He confirmed that during the last meeting of the CSTO military committee, the issue of participation in an armed conflict on Ukrainian territory was not considered.

Currently, all CSTO member states, except for Russia and Belarus, observe neutrality in feeding the Russian invasion. None of them has recognized the annexation of Crimea or the independence of the "L/DNR.
