Ukrainian carriers prepare protests at three checkpoints in response to Polish blockade

On Tuesday, February 20, Ukrainian carriers will start a peaceful protest at three checkpoints on the border with Poland: Rava-Ruska, Krakowiec and Shehyni. This was announced by Volodymyr Mykhalevych, chairman of the NGO "International Car Carriers of Ukraine" (ICCU).

"The purpose of the peaceful assembly is to express the protest of Ukrainian carriers against the blocking of freight traffic, which began in November 2023, which causes significant financial losses for the international road transport industry of Ukraine, exporters and importers of both countries and for the Ukrainian economy, and ultimately undermines Ukraine's defense capabilities under martial law. The situation with the blockade has not yet been resolved at the level of ministries, governments and presidents of Ukraine and Poland, so we are forced to take such actions," said Mykhalevych.

He noted that the peaceful action will start on February 20 at 12:00, simultaneously at three international road crossing points: Rava-Ruska, Krakowiec and Shehyni.

Mykhalevych added that the NGO "ICCU" will ensure control and order of passage through the listed checkpoints, not allowing Polish trucks to bypass the general queue of trucks.

He emphasized that the campaign will be held around the clock until March 15 or until Polish farmers unblock the border.
