Latvia plans to transfer funds from the sale of the House of Moscow to Ukraine - LSM

Latvia plans to sell at auction a land plot on which the so-called "House of Moscow" is located. The authorities intend to send the money raised to the needs of Ukraine.

The building in Riga used to belong to Russia, but it was nationalized by the Latvian Saeima, LSM writes. The sale can only take place as a whole: the building and the land. Currently, the cost of the land is EUR 517,083, and the building is EUR 2,348,340.

The government plans to introduce special amendments to the law on support for Ukrainians so that the auction proceeds can be transferred to their needs. At the same time, the Saeima noted that the House of Moscow might not be sold quickly, so the agreement might not be signed in 2024.
