The Latvian government will allocate EUR 4.4 million to the Social Integration Fund for courses for Ukrainian refugees. These funds will be spent in 2024 on language, history, culture, and integration activities. This was reported by bnn-news.com.

The Ministry of Culture of Latvia noted that last year the government approved a plan of activities and support for Ukrainian refugees for 2024.

Ukrainians will be offered cultural integration courses, which will include the history of Latvia, cultural space, a state language course (20 hours), language clubs, state and municipal services, and activities to facilitate integration into Latvian society, such as camps, seminars, cultural, sports, and joint activities for families. In 2024, EUR 4,443,120 are planned in the budget in 2024.

In 2023, during the implementation of the program "Cultural Orientation Courses and Inclusive Events for the Civilian Population of Ukraine," 27 contracts were concluded with organizations that provided free courses and events for a total of €1.1 million.

The Ministry of Culture notes that the system of primary assistance to Ukrainian refugees adopted in Latvia is successful and works as intended.
