EU extends anti-Russian sanctions for six months due to conflict in Ukraine

The Council of the European Union has decided to extend sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities responsible for violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine for six months. This was reported by the press service of the EU Council.

The sanctions include travel restrictions, asset freezes, and a ban on the provision of financial or other economic resources to individuals and legal entities. They will be in effect at least until March 15, 2024.

The restrictions were imposed on nearly 1,800 individuals and legal entities in response to Russia's unjustified military aggression against Ukraine.

The Council also decided not to extend sanctions against four individuals.

"The EU will continue to provide strong financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine and its people as long as necessary," the agency emphasized.
